Historically, I'm not sure any team with an averaged computer ranking as high as VT has ever been left out, as we are ridiculously high in the following: (eg: Net = 32, BPI = 20, Ken Pom = 27, Sagarin = 32).

However, these mock brackets have teams with computer ratings in the 50's, 60's and even 70's above us... simply because they have won several Quad 1 games.

For example, Rutgers is 6-5 in Quad 1, but has a worse record in Q2, Q3, and Q4 games than VT (they lost 2 Q3 and 1 Q4 game).

This is why it's so important to root for ACC teams in out of conference play. Had the conference done just a bit better in out of conference, VT might be locked in as a 10 or 11 seed by now.
