We have “unlimited” PTO. The switch happened before I got here. Believe


it was implemented on January 1 of whatever year the switch occurred. I don’t believe there was a payout as vacation was previously use or lose unless in a state where payout was required.

Unless your company allows employees to bank vacation from one year to the next, it shouldn’t be onerous for them if they choose to pay out at 60% or even 100%.
