Marvel had (past tense) a really good plan in place. DC has been using an

unorganized, scatter-brained approach to their superhero universe and it shows. Lots of recasting, cancelled projects, and movies outside the main continuity.

Lets re-cast Batman and make more movies. Oh, but this isn't the Justice League Batman and we might still make more movies with Ben Affleck as Batman just to confuse people. And here's a random Joker movie with a different actor and character backstory just for the hell of it. Now lets recast Superman, or maybe we won't.
