I remember Bob Phillips


Russ Whitenack tried to make a decathlete out of me (basically "you're good at a lot of stuff like jumping and hurdles but not really great at anything"), and Bob tried to make a vaulter out of me in that pursuit. Todd Scully was a great distance coach. Quirky dude, though. I believe he recently passed.

This was back in the day to where VT's commitment to Olympic sports was having the wrestling and soccer coach be the same person.
