I was thinking more in terms of at the end of the season when
the Committee is trying to decide which teams get to host a Regional or even a Super Regional. Right now Troy appears to be 11-2. If that trend continues, then it could mean that VT played 1 less good/great team this season. That 1 game might make a difference on whether VT hosts a Regional/Super Regional vs. traveling to another venue. Now if that trend doesn't continue and Troy ends up with a bad record, then not playing the game won't hurt VT's chances to host a Regional or Super Regional.
