Yes the auto bid scenario like UGA a few years back

We need the “locks” to win their tournaments. So for example in the Pac12 we want AZ, USC, or UCLA to win the tournament because they are likely already in regardless. If a ASU, Stanford, or Colorado wins the tournament and takes the auto bid that’s not good.
