It should be 16


FCS has 128 teams and their playoff is 24 teams. The national champ played 15 games this year.

FBS has 130 teams and the playoff is 4 teams.

Why do people think 8-12-16 is too many when we have almost an identical setup in FCS that works? And honestly the lower seeded teams often have the more fun games. An expanded playoff would be more interesting than the blowouts that happen every year with the current 4 team model.
