Umm, the minor league teams won't benefit that much in recruiting

if they play a major league team in a sport. For the minor league teams, the money matter mores than the recruiting.

Given that there is a lot more schools affiliated with the minor league than the major league, they can easily take the following position. If the major league want to play the minor league in a sport, then they have to put the basketball and maybe even the football money back on the negotiation table or increase the number of participating teams for all the major league sports. If you want to be in the major league, then suck it up buttercup and pay the piper.
