The Network thang is alot more complicated.

First answer can we create our own network.

ANSWER: no....ESPN/DISNEY.owns all tier 1 2 and 3 rights ot ACC schools sports events through 2036. Only after tier 3 choices are passed, then the ACC can distribute to other networks or the schools may.

NETWORKS were modeled in 2 ways.

The PAC 12 decided to create the network itself and distribute the products to the media formats. The cost and expenses for distribution, staffing, keeping current technology for all media is high and requires rapid change all the time. They also have to hire experts to negotiate with the big cable companies who do this all the time. Basically, the PAC 12 network flopped over that, with limited distribution and limited product availability and no technologies.

The ESPN NETWORK phase 1 LONGHORN NETWORK AND THE SEC NETWORK. The ESPN bought the rights to Texas and SEC properties exclusivity, funded all the equipment and studios staffing and sold it as part of its expanded suite of sport networks. Their revenue is regional focused (and actual initial expenses high). Their ratings, nationally not the best, but extremely high in the SEC big 12 footprint. It charges higher per subscriber, therefore in places like ala they get almost a 95 percent satuiration versus 15 percent in NY. But it all turns over i the wash.

The ACC NETWORK is more a hybrid. ESPN and ACC joined in partnership. ESPN was able to offload the expenses to build on campus studios (which are better than on campus on the SEC schools), to the COnference/schools future they were able to use the studios infrastructure in Charlotte and Bristol to handle the ACC. Also, ACC was in a place where they could negotiate at a margin with the performance of the conference schools lacking. So, they were able ot get a good long term deal with the ACC. Further, ACC footprint is perhaps the best for networks. So their distribution roadmap is different than the SEC, it costs to the media companies is actually cheaper than the SEC and because its shown in the big market cities NY BOSTON DC CHICAGO ESPN could end up and get as much revenue as the SEC. (THIS has NOTING to DO with RATINGS)> Therefore ACC Network is a value property with low expenses.

What is ACC choices, Its' up to the schools now. They are the value. Simply

For football deliver top t0 programs, get into the playoff. this means more money (and frankly they need to use their own. Miami has determined, they are going to make their destiny themselves. Clemson has as well. VT looks like have the same recipe and I'm assuming UNC is on its way.

FSU needs to up it as well. take the big dive...Probably NC State. We are talking the money to compete with Facilities, salary money to out bid the rest (at any costs)..recruiting support services and analytics. If ACC gets Miami, FSU, Clemson, VT, UNC all top 15 thats really all the ACC needs for preeminants in football.

Also I do believe the SEC is too many teams and all cannot make the playoffs or even a bowl.

lets say east. GA, Fla, Tenn, SC, Ky (and move Ala and Auburn East), and west Ole Miss, Miss State LSU, Ark Missouri, A&M Texas and Oklahoma. Can anyone be undefeated, much less 1 loss....
