Biggest risk for VT this year

…is the young inexperienced pitching staff. Last year’s starters and top relievers (Gerard, Simonelli, Alford, Connolly and Heard) are all gone. That’s a huge loss. It’s really a shame the coaching staff didn’t develop even 1 FR or SO as a reliable weekday starter a year ago.

This year’s team has talented pitchers, but they’re largely raw and lack much ACC experience except maybe Siverling, Okuda, Firoved & Green. And none stack up easily as a Friday night guy.

Will be interesting to see if Fecteau and Szefc can prepare and deploy them and the other young pitchers effectively. If not it’ll be tough for VT bats to overcome pitching struggles.
