Yes, we all know how good pre-season polls are at predicting college sports


Pollsters go with those they know unless they know something. If a team that is usually good lost a lot of top players, they will move them down, but a normally top team who has normal attrition and expected recruiting, you put them where they always go.

Baseball more than any other sport has to be built. You have to develop relationships, with not just HS's but with PG and groups like that. Then you have to develop the players, especially a pitching staff which takes time. It's the same a creating an OLine program in football, if you are getting a lot of contribution from Fr and Soph's, that is a bad sign. Last year we saw what this team can be under coach, but the grind of the season wore them down because they were so young. Not expecting this year to be a huge leap, but let the program work and it will get better.
