Even if both teams got the ball, fans would still complain


each team fails to score twice, on 3rd possession the first team kicks a field goal, the other team would complain they didn't get their 3rd turn.

IMO....10 min OT period, play it all. If no one scores, alternating 2 pt conversions.

OR

2 Alternating possessions from the 50 (like college), then alternating 2 pt conversions.

It's like penalty shots. You had your chance to win it for real, now do this silly crap to get it over with.
