I've trained (and taught) krav maga and a number of Filipino martial arts (pekiti tirsia kali, pencak silat, lightning scientific arnis) plus have trained in boxing, muay thai, jeet kun do, jung fat kung fu, and BJJ. Also have done extensive krava maga/kickboxing type sparring and Dog Brothers style full contact stick fighting (with the broken bones and detached bicep that results). I have never done any kind of "art" kind of martial arts, mostly the kind where the first thing you teach is groin kicks and eye jabs and how to slash a bicep with a curved knife. Definitely have not done anything that is scored. I've been kicked more than a few times.

Cobra Kai the dojo does incorporate some of the krav maga type of mindset. I'll hold my opinion on some of the techniques they use. A lot of what the Myagi Do Dance Fight Academy teaches will get you hurt in real life, but yes, it's a tv show.
