Uses for Botox (tmj…. Migraine) but things get pretty fuzzy and most anything above the neck goes. The group to whom I sold my practice had a sleep apnea “ specialist” and there was a LOT of pressure for referrals. To my knowledge there are no “ scientific” (double blind, etc) studies that ANY of the dental appliances are effective. Anecdotal evidence… imho cause people hate their c-pap machines and want something different. I refused to play the game. What were they going to do? Fire me?
In my early days I did hospital cases cause there were no specialists around. Our local hospital had two general surgeons that were excellent, and I got called in for trauma cases where there were facial injuries along with other traumas. I did a lot of facial lacerations, picked glass out of faces, stitched ears on, etc.
Later when specialist became available I gave that up.
