If they do decide to pull out of the NCAA altogether, then I do agree that

the rest of DI can't stop them. However, if they do leave the NCAA, then they have to figure out what do with their other sports because the rest of DI can survive without them in those sports.

The power conferences just want automatic bids for their 5 conferences and no one else. I do believe that proposal would be a violation of antitrust laws. I don't blame the G5s for not agreeing to the power conference's demands.
