depending on who the next coach is, i can see a little bit of retention. But we are not in the same position we were in when Beamer retired in having an iconic coach in a coordinator position.

I will say this, I don't know how the defensive staff would have worked out over the next few years but this is one thing that is tough about firing Fu. In recent years they hired a good amount of former hokies with what looked to be beneficial on the recruiting front.

We will have to wait and see what the new staff looks like. I am hoping whoever is the new coach either retains a key guy or two and/or hires some good VT alum with Va and East coast recruiting clout.
