It is possible that yes we could have beaten out some others for top VA recruits. We have built in advantages that matter with some kids. Closer to home. Familiar with other players from VA schools. Possible family/friend connections to VT. Academic programs that we excel at.

But it requires relationships and attention and focus. It’s why I never liked the TX to VT approach. That was not based in reality.

But agreed that the same coaching and development issues would have existed no matter who we got.
