Exactly. And also just add buyouts to sum total of the yearly salaries


How many coaches leave a program without a buyout? Almost none except those who leave to a higher salary elsewhere (and start the buyout money chain rolling again). Even Beamer got something if I recall.

So if a coach is making $4M a year, they’re really making more like $6M or something.

Everybody in the business knows this. Among other things, it’s just a way of deceiving casual fans and donors into not realizing how much head coaches really make.
