That is NOT the a weak skill for football especially at land grant universities''

The football coach is the face of football, he is the leader for not just the team, but the community the fans the friends, the students the recruiting network. It not a chore but pulling the entire team together.

I do think Whit weakness, is this quality should be the same for the entire athletic dept. Its more than social networks, targeted emails or text messages but good ole fashion bodies on the ground outreach to EVERY part of the state. If that means open an extension of the athletic dept in Hampton Roads Richmond and Northern Va. Whatever....... you can't just do it by a zoom or conference call. Yes, its 4-5 hours a way and yes coaches must be on the road more and its essential and be a great coach to the team. That is NOT for every candidate and some great candidates would not fit with that scenario. Ok we pick others.

There is a huge different for a athletic dept for a private school or urban school than a major state land grant university that represents the entire state. it takes a special type of coach. Its not looking good, slick walks on the beach or how many dadgummits you can say. it takes leg work and accessibility and communications skills AND great recruiting AND good coaching.
