When I heard that, it sounds like Fu was the first person to determine what he wanted to pay assistants. And after that he would run it past Whit to get approval or feedback. So if we now have a budget in the top quarter of the ACC and a head coach salary that is in the top quarter of the ACC, it doesn't add up that we would not pay for a new OC.

I suspect that there is more to the story. But that is just a guess on my part.
