At least the last 20 years, the SEC Commissioner has been calling most of the shots.

That said, the acquisition of Texas and Oklahoma, woke up the rest of the P-5 Conferences and probably the G-5 too. I don’t think there will be AQ’s for each P5, but I do see some AQ’s for several of the highest ranked Conference Champions or we stay the same at the January vote.
