take so long for Fu to realize the problems if he is such a good coach that can lead? A good leader would have spotted the issue long before it rose to this level, and would have axed Corn or done what he needed to do.


There are two truths that I see. First, the odds are that VT's best days are behind us. A new hire likely can't correct that. Second, however, it is still worth pursuing and it is CLEAR that Fuente is not the guy to even get VT close to that past success. He had one good year with Beamer's players. That's it. He won 9 games another year, but the losses were bad, and the bowl loss was bad.

Since then, recruiting has fallen off of cliff (prior to this year, which isn't even signed), and we are a bad team that consistently losses to teams we shouldn't lose to.

Fuente is not fit to lead this team. Trying to turn it into a Dabo model now, by trying to surround Fuente with talented coaches isn't going to work because he has poisoned the well for recruits. High School players already have a perception of this program, his offense, and this team, and it isn't good - as reflected by our last two recruiting classes.
