If I were Fuente, I know exactly what I would do for the VT program.


If I were Fuente, I would do the following for the VT football program and Hokie Nation.

Starting Immediately, I would take a 40% Paycut.
The pay at this level should be performance based to some degree. The fact that it really isn't, and knowing that he has not delivered, I would accept a 40% paycut in order to help the Virginia Tech football program and to do the honorable thing.
His stock would immediately go up as a head coach, because he puts the school ahead of himself. Imagine the National headlines if he did this.

Then I would hire a new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, with a large portion of that savings.Yes, I would either demote (he would now have the leverage to keep him around if he wanted to) or replace Corny.

In this move, Fuenty would win back the fan base, help Virginia Tech financially, and give us the funds to afford a top level coaches for our offense.

Virginia Tech recruiting would take a big step forward due to the stabillty and coaching staff, and Fuente would continue on as the Hokie Football coach.

But hey, that's just what i would do.
