If the Alliance wants maximum impact, then CFP should be 16 teams

At 16 teams, it would allow the Alliance to schedule more hard (but good for tv ratings and revenue) type games. This is where the Alliance would benefit the most.

This field would be the same number of rounds as the current proposal, only with no byes.

16 > 8 > 4 > 2

And by having an expanded field, a 9-3 team, with a very tough schedule from Alliance games, would have a shot at the playoffs (just like in all other sports with a playoff). So the Alliance could benefit from more regular season revenue, and still get multiple teams in the playoff for more post season revenue. Cap each conference at a max of 3 teams and it limits the potential impact of the SEC.

Only thing guaranteed is the conference champions and a limit of teams per conference. Everything else is up to the teams to win their way in.
