Neither waiting for 2025 or doing an early buy-out would surprise me

Either way, I expect new Big 12 additions to be announced before either would happen. They just won't be officially added until after. But with the TV deal expiring in 2025 (I think), and the fact it takes time for expansion candidates to leave wherever they currently are in order to move (BYU being the exception), we'll at least know who's being added before OU/texas officially leave (whenever that ends up being).
