The problem is, P5 teams don't want to schedule them.

Or certainly not on a equitable basis.

And let's say a G5 team finished undefeated with two road wins over quality P5 opponents. I can still see the committee freezing them out. For the same reason Notre Dame got to go to the Fiesta Bowl instead of us in 2000-01. And for the same reason TCU got shafted several years back.

I have next to no confidence in committees to be objective.
