VT should have called SEC HQ the minute the ACC announced MIA-SYR-BC in '03

Once we used political capital to get into the ACC instead, it was too late to be A&M's partner a decade later. I understand wanting to be in the ACC, but the ACC and Miami were perfectly content to ruin our existing conference, just like the SEC-Texas are currently doing to the BigXII. And they were perfectly willing to leave us behind. Only circumstances and UVa circling back for us got us in.
