Best of both worlds. If she going to be good at investing she has to learn

many lessons. A Roth in a simple fund ( S&p 500) Vs an investment fund in a stock or so in a company that she likes and has researched. In the Roth she learns the advantage of tax deferral where in the investment portfolio she will learn about tax on dividends and cap gains if she sells while her income is low and the taxes won’t be as painful. If the funds in the Roth outpace her pics she learns about the value of diversifying, and if her pics are the winner she has learned about evaluating a company and thinking for yourself, as opposed to relying on others to manage for you. Slam dunk. You may be parent of the year. Match if you can!
