I solved it. Inside


Pac12 and ACC conferences and all members agree to this:
- All schools break away from the conferences from football perspective.
- Nullifies current contracts
- ACC and P12 exist as they do today outside football. ACC negotiates it’s own non-football contract. Same with Pac12.
- The 26 members form two new football conferences. Conference 1 has the best 12. Conference 2 has the bottom 14. Conference 2 winner being considered a conference champ for playoff eligibility is key here (in this fantasy).
- Two separate tv football contracts. Top 12 gets a nice contract allowing the best to better compete with SEC/B1G. Think they’d be some eyeballs on both coasts with a good conference top to bottom with Clemson, FSU, USC, Oregon, Washington, VT, UNC, etc.?
- Now my favorite: relegation/promotion between the two! You want to be serious about football you get rewarded! So many important games!
- travel? This is football only. You can arrange it for one cross country trip (e.g., Saturday - Thursday games) or two tops with proper scheduling.
- bottom teams won’t agree? They are screwed now anyway. Now they have a realistic shot at a conference title. Also, they won’t get stranded by elites bolting.
- ND in ACC still and required to play a certain number of games against these two new football conferences.
