Four options

1. Create a new upper college football league of about 64 schools.
2. Create a new upper college football league of about 24-32, and leave VT out.
3. OU and Texas to SEC. Remaining B12 teams absorbed into other conferences. Done
4. OU and Texas stay put. Status Quo.

Other options have been suggested such as PAC/B10 or PAC/ACC merger. I don't find these likely, or making sense financially.

Number 4 seems least likely.
Number 3 seems most likely at least in the short term.
1 & 2 I would give equal weight long term.
At this point I would be fine with any of these. So not stressing out. If 3 happens the ACC remains as the number 3 conference, and falls further behind financially. We may be able to one day close the gap some but never fully. In the past I thought option 1 was the best option for VT, but no longer so sure of that. Unless the conferences were arranged better, and financial issues more balanced, I could see VT living in the have nots category. I know some think that is where we are now. But, there are many financial levels below VT in FBS. That would not be the case if option 1 occurred without restructuring.
