One way to make an SEC/ACC merger work ...


To overcome the issue in a merger scenario of ACC schools being dilutive to the SEC members is to provide disproportionate revenue sharing. As an example, if the SEC revenue sharing per school is currently double that of the ACC, then maintain that ratio post-merger -- at least for some period of time after which the ratio is gradually evened-out. This arrangement might be a hit to ACC member pride, but it might be a reasonable price to pay to ensure survival in a big-time conference.
