True self-defense
I did a lot of scenario-based training back in the day......how to escape zip ties, how to survive a carjacking, how to defend an airplane hijacking, etc. One thing I will always remember is that if you are being moved around in a house, you are probably going to die so you might as well go for it. My krav maga teacher said in krav maga, we take away the three scenarios of "I die, you die, we both die" and eliminate one: "you die or we both die". I love the raw aggression and violence of krav maga where you neutralize the attack and return it tenfold though we do talk a lot about restraint.
Agree with you 100% on a weapon. I took a seminar from former SEAL Team 6 member and trainer Pat Tray that was loosely "everything around you is a weapon". What I learned was a candelstick with a square base is an awesome weapon if you are attacked in your house.
