Congrats! Wife bought me a Weber Smokey Mountain...

I did steaks last weekend and ribs last night...I'm killing it!! Both were amazingly good. On the ribs, I just used some "generic rib rub", smoked with two chunks of cherry and one chunk of apple wood on the charcoal. Ribs took right at 4.5 hours at 225 to 235 and took it to 250 for the last 30 minutes...hit them with apple juice every half hour to 45 minutes then hit them with some store bought "rib sauce" around the 3 hour mark. Made for some delicious rib meat that either fell off the bone or came off with a slight tug. Wife and father-in-law really liked them!! After having read all the stories of newbs ruining some good meat early in their smoking life, I'm kinda happy that I'm 2 for 2 so far.

BTW, the steaks were smoked over hickory chunks and the rub was some store bought steak seasoning from Food City. Took about 45 minutes at 225 for a nice medium steak.
