But I don't recall you or anyone else breaking or predicting the ND story and the 5 games. It's not that I am trying to withhold credit from anyone. I just don't care. And for the record, I'm not here to give credit or blame for right and wrong predictions. I'm here to gain knowledge and brainstorm ideas as to what is best for college football. I'm not blaming you even for being wrong. I am blaming you for your obstinance in the face of being wrong.

I do know this: ND was shopping around and obviously the ACC gave them the best deal. I also didn't like the deal and still don't. I was far more against ND as partial member than I am against this 4 to 12 deal. However, after the deal I didn't act like it was going to ruin the ACC and college football. The deal was a reflection of the ACC's weakness. They would have never made such a deal if FSU and the U were what they were before 2003 expansion. Conversely, I also had no illusions of grandeur that the ND deal was going to uplift ACC football.

I also didn't reject the notion that someday ND would come to the ACC. I just never thought it was imminent. And this might shock you, and I'm not looking to stir the pot, but I still think they could end up in the ACC someday. But we shouldn't as a conference be pinning our hopes to it. I think people who think this way are setting themselves up for failure and disappointment. I believe establishing a good conference happens by programs working hard to get good. And the ACC to a program, needs to do this.
