That's rich

You call others "dumb" while in the same breath, post stuff from Heather Dinich. And if you disagreed with her, you should have said so up front.

You are now all concerned about insults, when just last week you called others on this board knuckleheads for not buying the Texas to the ACC hype.

You have also been on the record here condescendingly saying that G5 should somehow have its own playoff and that the P5 was going to break away. The latter of course, isn't happening now.

If the G5 wanted their own playoff, they'd just join the FCS. They don't want that. They want to play in the big time and I applaud them for that. Somehow, somewhere, Virginia Tech was given the avenue to move on up in the college football world. There were people saying we didn't deserve that BCS title bid in 1999 because our conference and schedule weren't good enough. However, we arrived--it wasn't easy and sometimes it was ugly. But we got the chance, and here we are. The G5 deserves the same chance. And some of these G5 schools are more deserving (and making a bigger commitment to football) than some of the teams that are in the P5 right now. I am glad that the new CFP recognized them by giving them one of the 12 slots.

If you are distracted by the Dude of WV moniker, then feel free to ignore it. And don't misconstrue it as an insult just because I "disagree" with you. I've made over 20k posts on TSL and I am not in the habit of insulting anyone. I am criticizing you because you make predictions that don't come true (ND will be full member, Texas to the ACC, P5 will break off, etc.) and then instead of just saying "I was wrong", you dismiss the whole system as stupid and somehow think that it is either unjust or somehow going to ruin college football. This, categorically, is insulting if not foolish.

There's nothing wrong with making predictions, but I try not to make them just as a matter of personal style. I am just interested in the topic and am passionate about college football. I state what I'd like to see happen and enjoy hearing even contrary ideas from others. I respect that others have more knowledge than I do in certain areas. Like Cobb talking about cable TV or TerryD and GoldenDomer talking about ND, I enjoy their opinions and it just adds to my attempt to try to see the whole picture. I also don't want to ever feel like I have to defend my predictions or be buttsore if they don't come true.
