He got a huge assist from his home ball park. The year before the Dodgers


moved to the Coliseum, he was 9-8 at home with a 4.22 ERA. (He was 9-5 on the road, with a 9-5 ERA.) When the Dodgers moved, he suddenly became "Koufax."

He was a great pitcher, but his numbers were greatly inflated by getting to pitch in Dodger Stadium.
