You know you’ve worked/watched too much softball when one recognizes umps

Watching the Clemson-GT game earlier, even with all the gear on, I recognized the home plate ump, Phil Freels. He’s a good one from my experiences, very personable and will have a respectful conversation with players/coaches. Does work quite a few non-conference games for UT but usually not SEC games.

Another ACC game today, recognized another when mentioned by name by the announcers but couldn’t tell if he was home plate or on the bases.
