Maybe it's because I don't have the top of the line TVs, but for me the

Built in apps loaded much slower than it does with my Roku Ultra. I have a nice Samsung Smart TV that I bought a year ago... 65 inch for about $600. Now maybe if I bought one for over $1000, the performance would be better, I don't know.
But when I would switch between apps on the smart tv they would take a long time to load and would often freeze or glitch causing me to unplug the TV and plug it back in. Once I got a Roku, even though there are occasionally times I have to unplug it to reboot, it is very rare (weekly for the Smart Tv and maybe 3 times a year for Roku).
I also find the menu for Roku very simple and easy. Not to mention the remote is simple as opposed to the TV remote that has seemingly hundreds of buttons that I never use and had no clue what they did.
Again, this could be because I didn't get the best of the best TV.
My dad has a much more expensive TV and has Apple tv, Roku, Prime, Disney, Netflix, and an antenna. I have no idea how to work his TV or change between over the air and Apple or Netflix... And I definitely can't use his Apple remote (and neither can mom).
