First, I was coaching baseball and my weekend time was limited. Prefer to spend my 'free' time doing something better than changing oil. Second, car manufacturers are now making simple tasks like oil changes, spark plugs, etc as difficult as possible to encourage customers to bring their cars in for service. Profit margins are so tight on vehicle purchases they they make more money on service. As a result, it was becoming increasingly more of a pain in the ass to do it myself. Third, I finally had enough disposable income to outsource it. A couple of years later I did the same for lawn care ... finding the time once a week to mow and edge an acre is no longer something I want to do.
