and other than having to be a bit of a contortionist at times, it was a pretty easy vehicle in that regard. However, since it was low to the ground I had to have it on jack stands and have a very low profile oil drain pan. I bought one just like the one below and for years it worked fine. However, one fine morning I warmed up the engine, pulled it into the garage, jacked it up and crawled underneath to remove the plug. All was well had some pretty hot oil run down my hand and arm and briefly thought man, I probably got the engine temp a little too high. Then tragedy struck. The last thread of the plug came out and it fell upside down and directly plugged into the hole in the drain pan. REALLY hot oil was flying out of the car it was way too hot for me to reach in and 'pull the plug' so to speak and soon oil is overflowing all over my garage. I scrambled to my feet, grabbed a pair of pliers and was able to get the remaining oil into the drain pan but I probably had about 2 quarts of hot oil that 'missed' and had to be dealt with.

The good news is my old man always taught me to assume there would be a disaster so I had a giant refrigerator cardboard box under the car so the garage floor was spared. I folded it enough to pour what I could into another drain pan for disposal. Threw away everything I was wearing that day. Laughed my ass off once everything was cleaned up. I couldn't have done that again if I tried a million times.
