I agree with this completely. I have always believed that you ->


are ALWAYS better to be too dressed up for business than not dressed up enough.

You are also right about dressing down if that is what your customer does. I will often go to a job-site with my engineers. I have on a coat and tie and it does look a bit funny. I have to wear one because chances are, I will be up in the "C Suite" or with the Execs before the day is over, and they WILL be dressed up. I have learned to put the ops guys at ease because I joke with my engineers that I wear a coat and tie so I don';t have to do any WORKthey tend to get a chuckle out of that.

Paying attention to how you dress for business equates to paying attention to the job at hand IMO. It is all about putting a customer at east that they are dealing with a professional who takes it (and THEM) seriously in my opinion.
