I honestly can't change who I am it will be ties forever for me

Even in pre-covid times in business I am usually always the best dressed man in the room. Its interesting how much we have changed over times. I can remember getting dressed up, just to go on airplane rides as a kid. Even when I look at the old black and white NFL games. I notice men in the stands with fedoras trench coats and neckties on. I will admit that most of my male colleagues try to rib me about it, the females on the other hand absolutely love it, because well...its just not something they see anymore. So IMO while the world is going casual, if you stay old school and you can endure the ribbing. I honestly prefer to do so.

With that said I do have one caveat. If you're in an industry where it will be frowned on to dress up, you do need to dumb it down for customers that feel a tie is over the top. I haven't had that issue though, because I mostly work with folks in the DoD, so they respect someone that is clean cut and comes to a meeting looking as put together as they are.
