The Boogie Woogie Man himself
told stories of them staying in motels together and taking them over, basically.
Those guys were more like the old Motown roadshows back then than limos and rock stars. Many of them traveled together on the road for weeks at a time.
Jimmy Valiant had a local radio show here for a while a few years back and would call and reminisce with his old counterparts. I remember him calling Ivan Koloff who was a farmer in Maryland at the time. He also called BlackJack Mulligan one day on his show. It was really cool to hear them talk about their adventures in such a casual way long after they had all retired from wrestling.
