I suspect the coaches knew exactly what the situation was and scenarios


the question seemed to be...what did the official award...

When you watch the replay...he initially raised his red arm for two for the TD and quickly changes it.... and begins swinging his arm to count ....

It wasn't until after the clock expired that he turns and holds up 2 fingers...but I don't think it was obvious what he had awarded... then they go over to the table and he explains...NCSU coach not happy, Robbie shakes their hands and goes back to the team with a huge smile...so once they knew the points awarded, they knew they won.
