Agree, except that for well over 95% ...

there are essentially NO effects or side-effects of catching COVID (and I believe that number is higher than 95 but not everyone does so I'll go with 95). However, 100% of the people and a significant percentage of businesses are dealing with side-effects of our response to COVID and that is where I think we really messed up! In addition to the issues I mentioned above (undetected conditions, depression, addiction) we have destroyed the finances and dreams of hundreds of thousands of people, inflicted immeasurable damage on millions of school-aged kids, and robbed everyone of us of a years worth of great experiences and memories.

Hopefully once the vulnerable are vaccinated some common sense will re-enter the equation and narrative but I still think we will be wearing masks and limiting crowds well into the fall and schools will have to offer remote 'learning' years into the future.
