So you're saying that drop ins are faster/easier to install for contractors

eg the guy who comes in to a new housing development and puts in a hundred but homeowner's prefer undermounts, probably for the sleeker look. For a given hole I would think undermounts give you slightly more space.

I would think undermounts easier to wipe surfaces into the sink too.
