I know that granite/stone is the in thing

and has been for several years...and many look fantastic.

We still have solid surfacing we got 20+ years ago when we built the house. Was the "in" thing then and one of the biggest selling point was "it'll last a lifetime" (maybe Hokie Club uses same ad agency) I still like the look and we love it - and you can get sinks made integrally with the countertop - seam is completely sealed with no "overmount"

I get it looks a little "dated" - then so do I....
