Had a doctor tell me several years ago that the best thing for lower


back spasms is to go walking. Walking is low impact, and exercises your lower back muscles and all the other muscles connecting to it, and they'll all loosen up. Worse thing to do is to lie around and not do anything. I think he said taking an ibuprofen occasionally would be ok too.
