My M-I-L was a Women's Marine.


She was working as a typist at the Navy Department when the war began. She and a friend signed up for the Marines because they felt they weren't doing enough for the war effort.

She was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, in North Carolina. She was a staff sergeant when she left the Marines.
