Several items stand out from a quick skim of the material.


It looks like the first dose did create antibodies but their own data shows that two doses are needed to offer any protection.

Also, their description of adverse events seems more "rough" that what I've seen from other vaccine candidates. Nothing too severe since it did pass the safety trial, but the others had less reactions.

While encouraging, this was only a 45 patient safety study and needs the big double blind placebo efficacy study to show true statistical significance. And a key item with the antibody studies is that other antibody vaccines are well known to flood the body at first and then drop off significantly after a few months. So a key part of the bigger study will be how the "protection" holds up over time.

And of course, hope for the best, but always remember what they stated in their own report when it comes to drugs that might end up in our bodies "Product development processes that normally require years were finished in about 2 months."
